As we step into 2025, there’s a real buzz around Garforth Golf Club. This year promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with prestigious events, top-level competitions, and exciting developments around the club. Whether you’re competing, spectating, or just enjoying a post-round drink on the balcony, there’s plenty to look forward to.
This year, Garforth Golf Club is proud to host two major events that will bring some of the best golfers in the region to our course.
On 6th June, we welcome elite golfers from across Leeds and beyond for the Leeds & District Union Strokeplay Championship. The competition will showcase top-tier talent, with players battling it out over 36 holes to claim the coveted title. Expect a thrilling day of high-quality golf on our beautifully prepared course.
Then, on 9th July, we play host to the Yorkshire Golf Union 2nd Division Championship. This prestigious event will see teams and individuals vying for promotion into the top division of Yorkshire golf. Hosting a county-level championship is a huge honour, and we can’t wait to see how the competitors take on the challenge of our course.
It’s not just the course that’s seeing exciting developments. Our clubhouse balcony has had a fantastic upgrade with brand-new furniture, making it the perfect spot to relax in the sun after a round. Whether you’re reflecting on your game, watching others finish up on the 18th, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, it’s set to be a favourite hangout spot for members and visitors alike.
As always, we have a full calendar of major competitions ahead. The question is—who will write their name into Garforth Golf Club history this year? With so many talented golfers at the club, every event is sure to be a thrilling contest. Will we see new champions emerge, or will familiar names defend their titles? We can’t wait to find out!

Our Scratch Team will head to Lindrick Golf Club in 2025 to defend their Yorkshire Team Championship title. After a brilliant performance at Pannal Golf Club last year, they’ll be looking to bring home the trophy once again. With the strength and depth in our team, we have every confidence they’ll rise to the challenge.
